  • Light: Full sun to partial shade, with 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Some afternoon shade helps in hotter climates.

  • Water: Water once or twice weekly during the first growing season to establish strong roots. Once settled, it becomes fairly drought-tolerant, though it prefers consistent moisture over dry spells.

  • Space: Plan for a mature size of about 8 to 10 feet tall and wide. In a container, use a pot of at least 20 to 25 gallons to give the roots room to grow.

This tree doesn't transplant well once established, so choose its spot thoughtfully from the start. Light pruning in late winter is all it typically needs to maintain its shape.

The high sodium and pH levels create conditions that are hostile to root development. If you want your memorial tree to thrive for years to come, using the Treebute Organic Soil Blend is essential when incorporating ashes.
