Detailed planting and watering instructions are provided in each kit. It is personalized to remember your loved one in an environmentally friendly way.
What’s not included in a Treebute Kit?
You’ll also need a few common items not included in the kit - such as an additional bag of potting soil (for indoor trees), an
appropriately sized saucer tray to catch excess water (for indoor trees), and a
bag of mulch for outdoor planting. Gardening gloves, a watering can or hose, and a wheeled dolly (for rotating and moving heavier planters) are also helpful to have on hand before starting.
Can Treebute Kits be used with cremation ashes?

What is something meaningful I can send to a grieving friend?
A Treebute Kit is a heartfelt alternative to flowers- something your friend can nurture, visit, and remember for years to come. It’s a gift that honors both grief and growth. Treebute Kits are a thoughtful gift option - shipped nationwide, and include the key items needed to plant a tribute in the privacy of your own home.
Treebute Kits include the key items, but what else do I need to plant my tree?
For an indoor tree, you will also need a bag of high quality potting mix (to fill the planting container), a hand shovel, and a plastic or terra cota saucer tray to catch excess water. We also recommend a wheeled dolly to easily rotate or rmove your tree. Gardening gloves are nice to have.
Do I need gardening experience to use a Treebute Kit?
Not at all. Our kits are designed to be beginner-friendly, with simple instructions and the key items needed to get started. Planting a Treebute is a gentle, healing experience - no green thumb required.
What is the best soil for a memorial tree planted in a container?
A high-quality potting mix designed for trees or shrubs is best. Avoid heavy
garden soil, which compacts and traps water.
