  • Light: Full sun, at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily, for the fullest bloom.

  • Water: Water deeply and consistently during the first year to help your tree establish, letting the soil dry slightly between waterings. Once settled, it's drought-tolerant and needs only occasional watering.

  • Space: Plan for a mature size of about 15 to 25 feet tall and 15 to 20 feet wide, so give it room away from structures and other large trees.

This tree prefers slightly acidic, well-drained soil but adapts to a range of conditions, including clay. A 2 to 3 inch layer of mulch, kept away from the trunk, helps retain moisture and protect the roots.
