Improved Meyer Lemon Tree Treebute

A living tribute that offers fragrant blooms and sweet, homegrown fruit.

The Improved Meyer Lemon Tree is a beloved citrus known for its sweet, floral-scented fruit and glossy, dark green foliage. Its white blossoms carry a delicate fragrance and can appear throughout much of the year, often followed by lemons with a smooth, thin skin and a flavor that's milder and sweeter than a typical grocery-store lemon.

Each Treebute is a complete memorial tree kit designed to be planted at home, a hands-on ritual that many people find grounding and healing.

The act of planting gives your hands something purposeful to do and creates meaning, forming a living connection that continues to grow.

Why You'll Love the Contender Peach

  • A tribute you can harvest: produces sweet, thin-skinned lemons with a milder, more floral flavor than store-bought varieties, giving you something tangible to gather from your tree throughout the year, not just something to look at.
  • Fragrant, near year-round blooms: white flowers with a sweet scent can appear across multiple seasons, and because the tree is self-pollinating, you don't need a second tree nearby for it to bear fruit.
  • Compact and flexible to grow: whether planted in the ground in warmer climates or kept in a container that moves indoors for winter, this tree stays a manageable size and adapts to nearly any space.

A Living Memorial That Grows With You

Finding a meaningful way to honor someone you love can feel overwhelming. A Treebute tree offers something different, a living expression of love that grows stronger each year. It gives your hands something to do and your heart something to hold.

The act of planting creates meaning. The growth creates hope. The tree creates a place to remember.

What Comes With Your Treebute Kit

  • Hardy tribute tree (size you select)
  • Step-by-step planting & watering care guide
  • Personalized memorial message

Optional Add-Ons (Customize Your Treebute Kit)

Many customers plant without ashes - and that's just as meaningful.

Everything arrives together, ready to plant.

Nurturing Your Memorial Tribute

Even if you're new to planting, the Contender Peach is hardy, forgiving, and rewarding with simple care.

  • Light: Full sun is best - at least 6-8 hours of bright light daily. A south-facing window is ideal. If natural light is limited, a grow light can help your tree thrive.

  • Water: Water deeply when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry. Meyer Lemons like consistent moisture but not soggy roots. In winter, water less frequently.

  • Humidity: Average household humidity works fine. If your home is very dry in winter, occasional misting or a nearby humidifier helps.

  • Temperature: Thrives in USDA Zones 8–11; bring indoors if temperatures drop below 40°F. Room temperatures between 55-80°F are perfect. Keep away from cold drafts and heating vents.

  • Feeding: Fertilize with citrus food during spring and summer for the best blooms and fruit.

This citrus is a heavy feeder, so a regular feeding schedule during the growing season supports healthy blooms and fruit. In cooler climates, container-grown trees should be moved indoors before frost, since they can't tolerate freezing temperatures.

Optional: Plant with Cremation Ashes - The Treebute® Difference

What if they're not ready to plant right away?

The kit includes simple instructions to care for your tree until planting time. Many customers plant on a significant date, a birthday, an anniversary, or another day that feels right.

Do I need ashes to plant a Meyer Lemon memorial tree?

No. Treebute Kits work beautifully as living memorials without cremation ashes. The cremation-safe soil is an optional add-on for those who want to incorporate ashes. Your Meyer Lemon Tree is meaningful either way - the fragrant blossoms and sunny fruit honor your loved one regardless.

What's included in the Meyer Lemon Treebute Kit?

Each kit includes a young, healthy Meyer Lemon tree; a step-by-step planting & watering care guide; and a personalized memorial message. One thoughtfully packaged kit - everything arrives together, ready to plant.

Can I plant a Meyer Lemon Tree with cremation ashes?

Yes. Treebute Kits offer the option to add Treebute® organic soil blend specially formulated to safely mix with cremation ashes and offset the naturally high pH and sodium level, creating a nurturing foundation for tree growth. Your Meyer Lemon becomes a living tribute that blooms, fruits, and fills your home with fragrance.

Will the Meyer Lemon Tree actually produce fruit?

Yes. Meyer Lemon trees are self-pollinating and can begin producing fruit within 2-3 years. For indoor trees, you can help pollination by gently brushing flowers with a small paintbrush. The lemons are sweeter and less acidic than store-bought varieties - perfect for cooking, drinks, or simply enjoying.

How big does a Meyer Lemon Tree get?

In a container, dwarf Meyer Lemon trees typically stay 4-6 feet tall -manageable for any living space. In the ground in warm climates (zones 9-11), they can reach 8-10 feet. Container size and pruning help control growth, so you can keep your memorial tree at whatever size works for your space.

Can I plant ashes without any special soil treatment?

We strongly advise against it and doing so will void the Warranty. Planting cremation ashes directly with a tree, without proper treatment, can stress or even kill the plant. The high sodium and pH levels create conditions that are hostile to root development. If you want your memorial tree to thrive for years to come, using the Treebute Organic Soil Blend is essential when incorporating ashes.

What makes Treebute different from other memorial tree options?

Treebute is designed to be planted at home, in your own yard, patio, or indoor space. Unlike distant memorial forests where a tree is planted somewhere you may never visit, a Treebute grows right where you can see it. It becomes a gentle, living presence in your daily life.

Every kit includes a healthy tree of your choice, clear planting and care instructions, and the option to add scientifically formulated soil for safe ash incorporation. And our team understands that every memorial is deeply personal.

How is this different from having a tree planted in a forest?

Forest donation programs plant something far away and send a card. A Treebute Kit delivers a real, living plant to your door, or to your recipient's door, so it can be planted and tended at home and seen every day. It becomes part of daily life, not a distant certificate.
