About

There is nothing quite like the Weeping Higan Cherry in full bloom in the spring. The Weeping Higan Cherry’s slender and flexible branches allow the tree to form an impressionable weep, sometimes almost touching the ground. In the spring, these branches are cloaked with double white or pink flowers in clusters of 2-5 that attract birds with its bright red fruits. New bronze leaves appear and mature into green. More resilient than other flowering cherry trees and prefers moist, well-drained soil. The natural grace of the tree and its striking beauty when in full bloom have made it a favorite among artists for centuries. Weeping cherry trees can be found on antique vases and other artifacts dating back more than 1,000 years. Their return to life each spring and their white blooms also make them a symbol of rebirth.
