About

Look no further than the Yoshino Cherry for a stunning flowering spring tree! The thousands of shell pinkish-white double blossoms cover the thin branches and mimic the look of a brilliant pink cloud. The Yoshino Cherry tree is also a reliable tree. It thrives in full sunlight to partial shade and requires good air circulation. It’s important to find a spot that’s not too shady or crowded and will be able to accommodate the mature heights and spread of your new friend. Yoshino Cherry trees will grow well in almost any kind of soil as long as it is not consistently wet. Flowering cherries are easy to grow and strongly prefer moist, relatively fertile, well-drained soil; they dislike poorly drained soil and will not tolerate boggy conditions. The Yoshino Cherry is a stand-out in the spring and also makes a great impact in the fall. Its celebrated blossoms adorn the branches in early spring, followed by glossy green leaves in the summer, and the leaves turning to golden yellow and bronze in autumn before falling. The trunk and branches are a glossy, deep reddish-brown color that is attractive during the winter months. Birds and butterflies also are fans of the Yoshino Cherry! The small, shiny, black fruits produced in late spring are irresistible to birds – but are inedible for humans due to their unpleasant bitter taste. It is best to avoid pruning aside from removing dead, diseased or damaged growth, or to thin out branches allowing better air and light circulation.
